Booking the appointment
From Monday the 6th July we will be offering a limited number of appointments at the Wesham surgery. These will be restricted to Monday, Thursday and Saturday mornings and Monday and Thursday evenings. Please ring our Penwortham surgery to book a consultation for your pet on 01772 746393 informing the receptionist that you are requiring an appointment at our Wesham branch.
Arriving at the surgery
To reduce the number of people in the building we ask that you only arrive at the surgery 5 minutes prior to your appointment and that only 1 person accompanies the pet into the waiting room. To comply with social distancing, we can only have a maximum of 2 clients in the waiting room at the same time. Please do not attend the surgery if you are feeling unwell, have a cough or a raised temperature
Seeing the Vet
The vet will invite you into the consulting room with your pet and ask you to sit at a safe distance whilst they take the animals clinical history. The vet will need you to hold your animal whilst they perform the actual examination. You will be asked to wear a face mask while the examination is taking place. You can purchase a mask from reception if you do not have one available.
Paying and Leaving The Surgery
Following the appointment, the vet will dispense any necessary medication. You will then be asked to pay by debit card. The exit will be via the steps at the rear of the building. This is to avoid contact with clients in the waiting room. If you have mobility problems, then the front door can be used. In this situation the vet will ask any other clients in the waiting room to stay at a safe distance.
These can be ordered as normal by telephone or email for collection at Wesham. We ask for 48 hours’ notice and will arrange a time for collection of the medication to avoid having too many people in the building at the same time.
