Steven qualified from Liverpool University in 1981 and came to the practice shortly after graduation.At that time, this was a two vet practice and it has grown steadily since then.Steven studied for and gained the D.B.R. (Diploma in Bovine Reproduction) from Liverpool in 1996 and has a special interest in cattle fertility.He became Senior Partner in 2005.Steven is married to Jill with one daughter, Lucy. Outside of work, Steven enjoys cycling, skiing and enjoys a nice red wine.

Anna graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2000, joining the practice shortly after. She is from a Yorkshire farming background, and her parents are mixed sheep, beef and arable farmers.Anna's interest in farming stems from this, and she had her own flock of pedigree Charolaise sheep for many years. She holds a certificate in sheep health and production, and in advanced veterinary practice.She enjoys all aspects of mixed practice, whether it being out on farm calls, consulting or operating in the surgery. Anna and her husband have two young daughters and a pet dog.

Robin is originally from Fife, Scotland and graduated from the Royal (Dick) Veterinary College at the University of Edinburgh in 2000. He began his professional career at a mixed practice in the Fylde, where he worked for eight years, before joining our practice in 2008. Robin still lives in the Fylde with his wife Rosemary, a Fylde farmer's daughter, and their two children Matilda and Angus. Robin spends most of his time working in the farm animal department and at our branch surgery in Wesham, where he enjoys the variety of small animal consulting.

Rachel is a local lass and started 'seeing practice' here from the age of 14.She graduated with distinction from the University of Liverpool in 2011, joining the practice shortly after. Rachel has a particular interest in small animal surgery and achieved a Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice in 2015. Outside of work Rachel enjoys both playing and watching rugby.

As the daughter of a local farming family, Sadie regularly saw practice during the holidays at White and Baxter (now Ribble Vets). After graduation, she worked for 3 years in a mixed practice in Northumberland and then as a large animal vet during the calving season in New Zealand. On returning to the UK she took a temporary 3 month locum position as a mixed vet at White and Baxter and was still there six years later! Sadie left to get married and start a family during which time she worked part time as a small animal vet in Southport. In 2006 she returned to our practice and has since developed her professional interests in diagnostics (radiology and ultrasound), medicine and soft tissue surgery. Out of work she spends most of her time on Mum duties, either as a taxi service or cheering beside a hockey pitch, for her twin daughters.

Nicky joined the practice in September 2009. She previously spent 5 years in a small animal practice and 17 years working for a small animal charity.Nicky is a Registered Veterinary Nurse with further qualifications in Veterinary Nurse training, small animal nutrition, small animal behaviour, advanced medical and surgical nursing, K laser therapy and hydrotherapy.She is particularly interested in anything feline, equine or caprine (goat related!).She owns a variety of animals, including cats, horses, hens and pygmy goats, and lives with her husband and son. Sarah graduated in 2002 from Newcastle University with a degree in Applied Biology and then proceeded to study Veterinary Medicine at the University of Edinburgh, qualifying in 2006.After graduation, she returned to her roots in Lancashire and has spent time in both mixed and small animal practice before starting a family.She returned to work as a locum vet in 2013 and has since settled as a permanent member of staff at Ribble Vets where she enjoys being part of such an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and forward-thinking team.Her particular interests lie in small animal ophthalmology, ultrasonography and acupuncture. Outside work, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband and their 5 year old daughter, who loves to help with baking and gardening.

Charlie qualified in 2010 from the Royal Veterinary College. She grew up in the South-East, but moved to Lancashire to be with her now husband, and because it's better. She has a ridiculous cat, Kenny, chickens, a duck called Brendan, and a small human called Rowan. She doesn't have a lot of spare time, but if she did, she enjoys photography, knitting and working in her allotment. She travels as much as she is able, and so often isn't actually here, and has just bought a campervan so has lots of adventures planned. She has a post-graduate certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice, with a special interest in small animal medicine.

Zhana is one of our small animal vets who grew up in Bulgaria. Her career began when she went to Trakia University; 150 miles away from her family home. After qualifying in 2010 Zhana took the plunge and opened up her own veterinary practice where she found her favourite part of the job being dentistry and soft tissue surgery. She ran the practice for 4 and a half years before pursuing another great passion of hers… travelling! Zhanas travels lead her to London in 2016 and to Preston in September 2018; when her Ribble Vets journey began.

Ben was born and raised in Lancashire, growing up in the rural village of Dolphinholme. Going to school in Lancaster he later graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2015. Ben was our first dedicated large animal vet at the practice and has a keen interest in cattle herd health. In his free time Ben plays squash and enjoys days out in the Lake District.

Outside work Tiffany enjoys baking, spending time with her cat Cody and helping out on her dads pig farm.

Donna is our farm vet tech, she has worked on farms from a young age. She started her career working in a laboratory for the Milk Marketing Board, she then worked for 18 years with the APHA dealing with routine farm diagnostics. She has also gained a lot of knowledge on Bovine TB. Since leaving APHA she has extended her skill set working for a farm practice as a vet tech. Donna joined Ribble Vets in 2018.

Christine qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 1995 and has always worked in Small Animal practice. She gained a nursing certificate in dermatology whilst working with a veterinary dermatologist at her previous practice.Her areas of interest are lab work/dermatology and she enjoys consulting and running the practice nurse clinics.She has a deaf rescue cat and a border terrier who she enjoys walking in her spare time.

Nicola qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 1996. She joined our practice in 2011 after taking a career break to raise her family. She has a keen interest in dog breeding, and successfully bred and raised a litter of nine Labrador pups. Nicola lives in Preston with her husband, four children, two Labradors and 2 guinea pigs.

Sami joined team Ribble in 2013 as a Student Veterinary Nurse, since then she has completed her degree at Harper Adams University, having graduated in August 2016 to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse. Sami has a keen interest in farm animal nursing, complementary therapies and emergency care. Outside of work, Sami is kept busy with her rescue cat, Buster, and with her many roles within the scouting association.

Caroline is a registered veterinary nurse who graduated in September 2016 from Harper Adams University. She joined the practice in 2013 as a student veterinary nurse. Caroline is from a farming background as she grew up on the family sheep farm and therefore has a particular interest in sheep especially at lambing time. She has a variety of animals at the family home including her own dog Eric, a little border terrier x Jack Russell, who goes everywhere with her. Other hobbies include attending agricultural shows and vintage steam fairs which take up most of her weekends.

Michelle has been with the practice since 2000. Formerly our Head Nurse, she now works part-time and we find her knowledge, experience and calming presence are of invaluable use to our trainees. Michelle is a busy mum to two young children and is also a fitness fanatic and enjoys caravan holidays with her family.

Kerry began voluntary work in 2005 as a weekly work placement while attending an animal management course at Myerscough College. She began Veterinary Nurse training in 2008 and qualified in 2011. Kerry currently has two cats, three rabbits and fish and two lovely children.

Rachel qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse September 2018 after commencing study at Myerscough College September 2015. She has worked for Ribble Vets throughout her training and thoroughly enjoys nursing our patients. Rachel works hard as part of the night nurse team and really enjoys the inpatient care side of the job role. At home, Rachel cares for her two Golden Retrievers who bring her lots of fun! Outside of work Rachel enjoys socialising and exploring outdoors.

Charlotte's passion for working in the Veterinary industry started whilst at primary school. She started her training to become a Veterinary Nurse at Myerscough College in 2015, she joined Ribble Vets in 2016 to complete her 2nd and 3rd year of training and recently qualified in July 2018.

After all the hard work, she just could not keep away from studying and has now completed her 4th year at Myerscough College to acheive her BSc in Veterinary Nursing. Her passion lies within the emergency and criticial care, anaesthesia and inpatients.

Danielle joined the practice in 2017 as a receptionist, shortly after this she joined the nursing team as a qualified RVN. One of her passions is to provide excellent inpatient care to hospitalised animals alongside hand rearing neonates, she finds it incredibly rewarding and worthwhile. Outside of work, Danielle has many interests including taking her dogs Oleg and Nala to see different places, near and far.

Katie joined the Ribble Vets team in 2016 as a Nurse Auxiliary. She began her Veterinary Nurse training in 2018 whilst working at the practice She has a keen interest in dog behaviour and has started to run behaviour assessments and desensitisation at our Penwortham practice. This involves giving advice in general or assisting owners with any training they may need to implement with their pets. In her spare time Katie enjoys family time with her partner and daughter,horse riding and going on long walks with her two husky dogs.

Natalie joined the practice in 2004, originally as a receptionist. In 2018 she joined the nursing team as a Nurse Auxiliary. She had previously volunteered at the RSPCA in her native South Africa for a number of years. Natalie is a qualified dog groomer and has a keen interest in dog behaviour and training. At home, she has a large variety of pets including cats, dogs, guinea pigs and fish - as well as a husband and two children!

Colette joined the Ribble Vets team in 2016 as a Nurse Auxiliary; after growing up with a variety of animals – two dogs, two tortoises, a cat, snake and fish- she was sure that working with animals was the route she wanted to go down. Colette obtained a BSC in Animal Welfare and Behaviour and has since been very keen about working specifically in that area. Colette has started to run behaviour assessments and desensitisation at our Penwortham practice which involves giving advice in general or assisting owners with any training they may need to implement with their pets. In her spare time Colette enjoys going on long walks with her dogs, bouldering with friends and enjoying the outdoors.

Caroline graduated from Myerscough Agricultural College with BSc (Hons) in Animal Behaviour and Welfare in 2002. She has been with the practice since 2003 and has been Head Receptionist since 2010. Caroline is from a farming background and has been around animals all her life. She has bred, kept and trained Border Collies for working trials and has currently three Border Collies. Caroline is also a Provisional Member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors. She keeps up to date with new techniques and research by regularly attending seminars and conferences and is always happy to offer help and advice on pet behaviour issues.

Zoe joined Ribble Vets in 2015 but has spent most of her working life in varying accounts roles with large corporate organisations so being at a vets is something different and challenging for her. She enjoys visiting new countries, camping and is part of a ladies pool team. Whilst mostly having lived in towns, she now lives with her partner on his parent’s farm and they have 2 dogs and a parakeet.

Jackie joined the practice as a receptionist in October 2014. She came from a background of office work and has applied her skills to the everyday running of reception and is now Reception Supervisor. Jackie also has a very calming influence on all those around her. Jackie has two cats at home but loves dogs just as much and will often be found cuddling pets that come into the practice. Outside of work, Jackie enjoys badminton, cycling and films.

Rachel worked full time until having her children in 2011 and 2013, she now works part time as a Reception Supervisor at our main branch in Penwortham.

Shirley joined us in July 2010 when we opened our Wesham branch.Shirley is well suited to her role as Receptionist as she enjoys meeting & greeting clients old & new and takes great satisfaction from providing good customer service.Shirley is married with 2 grown up children and 2 granddaughters.She is an animal lover of all kinds and enjoys walking the family Miniature Pincsher Leon. Outside of work her interests include walking in the great outdoors (anything related to nature) and has a keen interest in photography.

She lives with her fiancé and two daughters along with her Border Terrier, Jinny and four fish.If it was up to her she would have a houseful of pets but Jinny likes to be a dog on her own!

Donna started working at the Wesham office in February 2015, but has been known to pop up in Penwortham office on a regular basis and enjoys meeting the many clients and their pets at both surgeries. She has a rescue German Wirehaired Pointer called Lola who keeps both her and her husband fit with lots of walks. They have a motorhome and in any spare time off, they load up and travel all over, usually abroad, although they have been to lots of lovely places in Britain.

Chloe joined the practice in September 2017 having lived and grown up in Preston. She studied Health and Social Care at Newman College in Preston. She went on to work in care for 5 years, specialising in caring for the elderly with dementia. She has always craved working in a job with animals, as she has a keen interest in all animals big and small, and loves working behind reception to greet all the furries, and more often than not, giving them all cuddles. In Chloe's spare time she likes going for long walks, reading and watching scary films.

Tracy joined Ribble Vets in December 2016 as a part time member of the Reception team. Originally from Longton, she has been a client of Ribble Vets for a number of years. Tracy has a teenage son and two Yorkshire Terriers. A love of animals makes this the perfect job for her.

Gabriella is from Hungary and graduated from University of Sopron in Wildlife Management in 2013.She`s been a member of the Receptionist Team since 2019 after being a volunteer at the Penwortham practice. Her long term plan is to become a Veterinary Nurse in the future. She`s a cat lover and in her free time she spends time with her pygmy hedgehog, Eric or goes hiking.

Rob joined the practice February 2019 after working in various veterinary roles for the last 8 years. He was the practice manager and Operations Advisor for a large corporate company, he opened new practices and trained new staff on policies and producers, including plenty of front of house time. He then went on to become the client service manager at the PDSA for 2 years in London which he found very rewarding. After a life changing experience he decided to pack up and try something new and he moved 'up North' to Preston and so far it has been amazing. Rob has got two cats Spencer and Bryan who are both 13 years old and two dogs Madge 9 years and Ted 4 years old. Rob says "joining Ribble vets has been the highlight of my working career so far and the clients and staff have been so welcoming. I'm looking forward to see what life brings my way."
