Do you have a passion for animals and customer care?
We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic, compassionate animal lovers to join our dedicated, forward thinking customer care team. You must be:-

  • A team player, able to fit in and complement our existing team
  • Able to cope with the highs and lows of pet’s lives, prepared to be hands on with pets visiting the branches
  • Excellent communication and IT skills
  • Previous relevant experience in a Customer service or Reception role
  • Able to multi task and cope under pressure whilst consistently delivering high standards of care and service
  • Able to work within the team to cover shifts within the hours of 8am – 8pm on weekdays, and 8am – 5pm on weekends
  • Able to travel to any of our branches (Penwortham, Wesham and Leyland) if cover needed

The roles include a share of evening, weekend and Bank Holiday shifts. There is no requirement for any overnight shifts.

This will include shifts covering our purpose built Veterinary Hospital (Penwortham) and branches in Leyland and Wesham so a driving licence and own vehicle will be necessary to get to and from the branches.

We are looking for someone who is flexible to cover annual leave, Bank Holidays and sickness. Shifts will be between the hours of 8am-8pm Monday to Friday and 8am-5pm Saturday and Sunday on a 4 week rolling rota.

Experience working within a veterinary practice is preferable but not essential as full training will be given.

About the role:
Day-to-day duties of the role will include queries from both companion animal and farm clients.

  • Answering phone calls and booking appointments
  • Responding to queries via phone, in person and email
  • Registering new clients
  • General administration duties
  • Taking payments
  • Maintaining a clean and welcoming environment
  • Animal handling
  • And most importantly; providing a warm and welcoming experience to our clients arriving at the practice
What we're looking for in our Veterinary Receptionists:
Previous Receptionist experience is essential, preferably with some veterinary experience

  • Resilient personality with the ability to cope with potentially distressing and emotional situations
  • An excellent communicator with strong empathy
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience in dealing with members of the public
  • A positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills
  • Competent IT skills
