Blood Sampling Protocols

Some pets on long-term medication for particular conditions require regular blood sampling. This is important as it allows us to adjust the dose of medication in response to your pet’s needs.

There are certain timings and protocols that must be followed in order for the blood sample to provide an accurate result. We have listed these below for your guidance, however there may be some variance according to the instructions of the veterinary surgeon.

The majority of these samples will be run for monitoring purposes - there are other tests and blood samples that we also perform for diagnostic reasons, i.e. to find out what is wrong with your pet. We will advise you at the time of the correct protocol for the proposed test.
