Geriatric / Elderly Patients

Nowadays our pets are living longer than ever before, thanks to advances in veterinary care, balanced diets and increased owner awareness. However, advancing age can bring additional problems and to ensure your pet remains happy and healthy in old age we recommend regular veterinary check ups.

Our Senior Pet Clinics are offered at weekday appointments for all dogs and cats over the age of 7 years. Your pet will receive a full health check with a veterinary surgeon, including checking the heart, eyes, ears and teeth, and we will take a blood sample to monitor your pet’s liver and kidney function and blood glucose levels. This can help to identify conditions that can occur in old age such as diabetes, heart disease and liver problems. Our in-house laboratory will provide a quick result, enabling our vets and you to keep your pet in the best of health for as long as possible. We can also help you with any mobility problems or incontinence issues your cat or dog may be experiencing due to their age, and you can trust us to recommend the best treatment for your pet.
