Open Surgery

CLOSED- see Penwortham

CLOSED – see Penwortham

You don't need an appointment to attend our open surgeries - just come along during the consulting times.

If you would prefer an appointment, we have bookable times on Mondays and Wednesdays - please phone any of our branches to arrange this. All of our computers are linked, so we are able to access your pet's records from either our Penwortham or our Longton branches.

If you'd like to see a particular veterinary surgeon, please telephone either Longton or Penwortham surgeries and we will do our best to accommodate you. Not all vets consult at Longton, and due to the nature of our work and limited opening times at Longton, it is not possible to guarantee that a requested veterinary surgeon will always be available as they may have to attend an emergency call or assist in theatre at very short notice.

Contacting the Surgery

You are welcome to contact the surgery on 01772 616492 to order repeat medication at Longton, Monday – Friday 0900-1200, and 1730-1830. Reception is open after morning surgery each weekday until 1300. Please click here for advice on ordering medication and food.

Attending the Surgery

Generally, most things can be attended to at Longton. We request that you make an appointment at Penwortham for Pets Passport/Exports, pregnancy scans and multiple vaccinations, e.g. litters of puppies/kittens. Certain types of blood testing can only be done by appointment and at particular times of day – please telephone for advice. We find that many clients prefer an appointment for euthanasia, and you are welcome to arrange this through the Penwortham branch.

Please be aware that a vet is not present at Longton outside of the consulting times. If you arrive when a vet is not in attendance you will be asked to return to the next open surgery or directed to our Penwortham branch.

We are always available for emergencies 24 hours a day. Please click here for more information.
